3D Wonders Strengthening Partnership with Geomagic and Expanding Our 3D Software Lineup
Share
In August 2025, our partnership with Geomagic just got a serious upgrade. This closer collaboration means we now have direct support from the Geomagic team and can offer a much wider range of their software, not just Geomagic Design X and Geomagic Control X, but also Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS and Geomagic Wrap.
In short, our customers now get more choices, better support, and more learning resources, all in one place.
Backed by Geomagic’s Experts
This deeper partnership comes with something we’re genuinely excited about, direct backing from the Geomagic crew themselves. That means faster access to updates, deeper technical know-how, and a much tighter feedback loop between us, Geomagic, and you.
As our CEO Patricia Fung put it:
“We’re thrilled to deepen our relationship with Geomagic. This direct support enables us to deliver top-notch service and help our customers get the most out of Geomagic’s software solutions.”
Practically speaking, this means quicker issue resolution, better guidance, and a smoother experience overall. You’ll feel the difference right away from faster replies to more informed recommendations.
A Complete Geomagic Lineup
We’ve officially expanded our Geomagic offerings to include the full suite:
-
Geomagic Design X. The go-to for reverse engineering. It turns 3D scans into editable, parametric CAD models faster and more accurately than traditional CAD tools.
-
Geomagic Control X. For anyone in quality control or inspection. It helps you analyze scanned parts, spot deviations, and generate clear, automated reports.
-
Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS. Perfect for SOLIDWORKS users who want a direct scan-to-CAD workflow inside their familiar Solidworks environment.
-
Geomagic Wrap. The most efficient way to clean, repair, and surface 3D scans into watertight meshes, ready for printing or visualization.
As Patricia explained:
“By expanding our Geomagic offerings, we’re giving our customers the right tool for every job. From advanced reverse engineering to quick mesh edits, it’s all about flexibility and choice. Geomagic’s advanced software plans also enable system automation, which is essential for high-valued production lines.”
Not everyone needs a full Design X license, and that’s totally fine. If you just need mesh editing or point cloud cleanup, Wrap might be the sweet spot. If your team already lives in SOLIDWORKS, Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS keeps everything under one roof.
And yes, we’re keeping licensing flexible, annual subscriptions or perpetual licenses, whatever fits your workflow or budget best.
What This Means for Our Customers
The real win here is simplicity and confidence. You can now get your 3D scanner and all the leading Geomagic software directly from us, knowing everything will play nicely together.
Instead of juggling multiple vendors, you’ve got a single point of contact for your entire 3D workflow.
And since Geomagic is now directly involved in our support process, we can troubleshoot faster, offer deeper technical help, and pass along updates and insights as they happen. Whether you’re aligning scans, calibrating a scanner, or doing complex inspection analysis, our team (with Geomagic behind us) has your back.
We also love that this expanded portfolio makes it easier for customers to grow their capabilities over time. Start with Wrap, move to Design X when you’re ready for full CAD reverse engineering, or bring Control X into the mix for precision inspection. Whatever the project , such as heritage preservation, aerospace, CNC machining, education, we’ve got a combination that fits.
Learn at Your Own Pace
We’re also rolling out a library of on-demand training videos and tutorials to help you master these tools at your own speed.
You’ll find step-by-step walkthroughs like how to reverse-engineer a complex part in Design X or run a GD&T inspection in Control X plus practical tips from real workflows.
The goal is simple: help you get the most out of your software without needing to pause your projects.
As Patricia said:
“Providing great software isn’t enough. We want our customers to succeed with it. Our self-paced videos let users build skills step by step, on their own time.”
Looking Ahead
This partnership upgrade is a big step forward for both us and our community. We’ll be working closely with Geomagic to pass along product insights, early updates, and even beta opportunities as they come up.
If you’re already part of the 3D Wonders family, you’ll see the benefits right away. And if you’re new to Geomagic software, we’ve made it easy to explore. We're offering free trial licenses so you can test-drive the software and see what fits.
Ultimately, this move is about giving our customers greater capability, flexibility, and support, backed by the confidence of having Geomagic directly in our corner.
We’re proud to keep building this ecosystem where hardware, software, and hands-on expertise all come together, so you can keep creating wonders in 3D.
