OptimScan Q Series

The OptimScan Q Series consist of OptimScan Q9 and OptimScan Q12. They are high-precision 3D inspection scanners with dual scan range, MSF technology, and multiple exposure for accurate data capture on complex materials. With single-shot scanning under 1 second, they enable fast, repeatable inspection for manual and automated workflows.

Some common use cases include inspection of:

  • Precision machined parts, such as engine blocks, transmission housings, turbine blades, and braking system components,
  • Stamped sheet metals
  • Injection molds / die casting molds

OptimScan Q9 and Q12 can be easily integrated with the robotic arms at the critical production line stations, to perform automated scanning and real-time inspection.

High-Precision 3D Scanner for Automated Metrology

Accelerate your manufacturing with high-precision 3D scanning for small to medium-sized parts (0.1 in to 4 ft). The OptimScan Q9 and OptimScan Q12 deliver fast, automated inspection with real-time insights to reduce costs, increase productivity, and cut scrap. Just plug and play for effortless integration.

Reliable High Performance

The OptimScan Q Series, including Q9 and Q12, is engineered for high-precision 3D inspection with stable, repeatable performance.

  • Q9: 4 × 9 MP cameras — efficient precision inspection.
  • Q12: 4 × 12.3 MP cameras — finer surface details.

Combined with powerful hardware modules and advanced 3D reconstruction algorithms, the OptimScan Q Series achieves accuracy of up to 0.005 mm, ensuring consistent, metrology-grade results.

Dual Scan Range

The OptimScan Q Series features two scan ranges that can be switched with a single click, eliminating manual adjustment of aperture and focal length. Scanned data from different ranges can be seamlessly fused in the software, ensuring both efficiency and detail.

Monocular-Stereo Fusion (MSF)

The monocular-stereo fusion function can effectively increase data coverage and improve the integrity of the scanned data, particularly at common turning corners and joints of industrial parts.

Intelligent Scanning

Powered by a built-in dual-chip computing module, OptimScan Q Series delivers fast image acquisition and data processing. Each shot takes less than 1 second and captures 12 million points with exceptional precision. To further streamline the workflow, OptimScan Q Series offers multiple exposure modes—including intelligent automatic exposure—dramatically reducing scanning time while ensuring optimal results across diverse surface conditions.

Versatile and Adaptable

OptimScan Q Series is compact and easy to carry, offering flexible manual scanning. For semi-automated operation, it pairs with a fixed tripod and an automatic turntable with up to 20 kg load, providing increased efficiency and consistency in scanning. In fully automated mode, it integrates with a robot for precise, repetitive inspection tasks.

Automated Inspection Solution

OptimScan Q Series seamlessly integrates with intelligent 3D inspection systems, enabling fully automated workflows from scanning to report generation.
